David Lehman is a physician-scientist whose primary clinical work was inpatient/outpatient Internal Medicine, mostly for medically indigent populations at Denver Health for 28 years. He is on the faculty of the Univ of Colorado Medical School and is Board certified in Internal Medicine. He provided care to veterans at Veteran’s Hospitals in Denver and S Dakota. Early in the HIV/AIDS “global epidemic,” he developed expertise in caring for that special population. He has done 6 stints of International Medical Consultation/Teaching, including in New Zealand, Vietnam, Kenya, & Okinawa, Japan for a combined total of 28 months.
David and Jean have been married for 48 years. They were members of the Bluffton College a cappella choir. David’s musical experiences through high school included piano and pipe organ lessons as well as high school a cappella and church choirs. He played trombone for 6 years, including orchestra, and concert, marching and PEP bands. Adult musical participation has focused on choral groups. He sang bass in “Ye Wanton Singers,” a community madrigal group in Denver and in community choruses, which performed the Mozart and Brahms Requiems and Handel’s Messiah.
