In 2017, Off the Hook Arts continues the growth of our Academy programming to include educational residencies with visiting performing artists. Whether being ambassadors for Off the Hook Arts in Colorado in unique or established concert venues or providing educational workshops in local public schools or universities, we are excited to bring diverse, high-level artists to our local communities. A stop at our Chamber Music Academy is, of course, a must. Our visiting artist range from jazz to world music to straight-up classical. This exposure opens creative doors for our students, as they continue to establish their fundamental technique and understanding of how to play their respective instruments.
Guest artists in 2017-18 season include the Front Range Chamber Players with Artistic Director and violinist Erik Peterson, Triptych Jazz Trio, and the Miami String Quartet.
Miami String Quartet
Praised in The New York Times as having “everything one wants in a quartet: a rich, precisely balanced sound, a broad coloristic palette, real unity of interpretive purpose and seemingly unflagging energy,” the Miami String Quartet has established its place among the most widely respected quartets in America. For over twenty years, their diversity in programming, poise in performance, keen sense of ensemble and impeccable musicality has made the Miami String Quartet one of the most sought after quartets in chamber music today.
