An event every day that begins at 3:00am, repeating until June 29, 2018
¡Exploramos! That’s the theme for our Little Shop road program this year, and it sums up the basic idea—we want kids to explore, to learn about their world, using the tools of STEAM — STEM & the arts. The day starts at the Natural and Environmental Sciences Building on the CSU campus…where you’ll end up that day, is just the beginning of the adventure! Walking field trips will take students for site visits to the Art and Music buildings as well as other science collaborators on campus.
Here are some of the intriguing questions we will ask and then explore during the ¡Exploramos! summer camp:
o Why is the sky purple?
o Would you get a sunburn on Mars?
o Can you see beyond the rainbow?
o What does your world look like on the microscale?
o How do you make sound?
o What causes pressure?
o Can you make square bubbles?
o If hot air rises, why is it cold in the mountains?
o Why are clouds white?
o Can boiling make something freeze?
This is a hands-on, 5-day Physics and Arts camp for kids entering 6th – 8th grades.
Led by: Little Shop of Physics team member, Heather Michalak.
