Orbit the Arts – Tunes & Tales Live

Tunes & Tales Live is a half- hour show created for children ages 18 months to 8 years old. During this interactive show, kids will meet Colorado published picture book authors or illustrators and hear them read their stories out-loud. Plus, kids will get their wiggles out to live music by professional musicians alongside Disney-trained master puppeteer, as guest host. Kids, this show is for you!
Colorado Author: Dian Curtis Regan
Dian Curtis Regan is the author of 60 books for young readers, ranging from picture books to young adult novels to anthology stories. Her work has won many honors and has been translated into several languages. Space Boy and the Space Pirate was a finalist for the Colorado Book award, and the winner of a Crystal Kite Award, presented by the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Other popular titles include Princess Nevermore, the Ghost Twins series, The World According to Kaley, and the Monster of the Month Club books. A Colorado native, Dian graduated from CU Boulder, and taught school in Denver before becoming a full-time writer. She has also lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Venezuela. In 2012, she moved home to Colorado.

Musician: Cordelia Tapping
Cordelia Tapping is a vocalist based in Boston. She has performed at the Vermont Jazz Center, on Music for Food concerts, as backup for Lake Street Dive, on the stage of the Yellow Barn Music Festival in Vermont as well as in Boston and New York neighborhoods on Yellow Barn’s Music Haul. In 2015, she was named a Young Arts Merit winner in jazz voice. Born in Boulder, CO, at age 7 Cordelia moved to the Boston area and attended the New England Conservatory preparatory school where she studied jazz voice and violin, as well as participating in the Youth Chorale and Youth Camerata. As a student at Oberlin College she was a member of Collegium Musicum. She is now working for Music for Food while continuing her bachelor’s degree in jazz voice at the New England Conservatory of Music as a student of Dominique Eade and Hankus Netsky.
