OtHA welcomes back to Northern Colorado founder, violinist James Armstrong and the stellar Atlas Tango Project, formerly known as The Austin Piazzolla Quintet. Specializing in the music of the late Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla as well as original nuevo tango compositions, we welcome you to warm up your tango dancing skills in preparation. Please join us for an afternoon of music, wine, and great company at the home of Jennifer Kathol. About Atlas Tango Project The Atlas Tango Project (formerly the Austin Piazzolla Quintet) specializes in the music of the late Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla as well as original nuevo tango compositions. Founded by James Anderson (violin), Atlas Tango has been performing to captivated audiences since 2009. The smoky-voiced Brazilian songstress Michele Castro of the Michele Castro Quartet, brings her immensely talented colleagues, drummer Raoul Rossiter, and saxophonist Ian Brighton pianist, and pianist Victor Mestas, back for his third appearance in OtHA’s Garden Concert Series, for a swinging concert of jazz standards with a Latin flavor. Please join us as we gather in the gardens of Joannah Merriman and Neil Petrie for an evening of food, wine, sizzling Brazilian Jazz music and great company. About Michele Castro Quartet Michele Castro Michele Castro (vocals, acoustic guitar) hails originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As a vocalist and guitarist, she began to play internationally when invited to perform two tours of Germany with a Choro/Samba band as lead singer. Michele is proud to say she grew up in the Rocinha favela where she draws much of her musical inspiration and appreciation.
