Nothing like starting a fresh new week after Spring Break with a visit from Erik Peterson and the Front Range Chamber Players (FRCP). Our collaboration with this great chamber music concert series in Fort Collins continued on Monday, this time with CSU faculty members Ron Francois, Margaret Miller, Wesley Ferreira and cellist, Charles Tucker. Preceding each of FRCP’s concerts, PYCH brings these artists to one of our schools. This time it was Ridgeview’s turn, with close to 150 middle and high school students being treated to the reminiscing sounds of Brahms, Ravel and Stravinsky. The Brahms Clarinet Quintet is a monumental cornerstone of the chamber music repertoire and worth every effort to hear in live performance. They definitely do it justice.
This collaboration is a great and meaningful way to expose a large number of students to this genre of music, performed by such experienced players. Not only did they perform, but also distributed 8 free tickets to interested students and a parent! We love that they do this for us four times a year. Too bad this concert wraps up their season. Don’t miss them tonight at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 7:30. We are already looking forward to next season!
