Carly Dekker

Viola
Carly Dekker, born and raised in Centennial Colorado, has been teaching music for as long as she can remember. She is the daughter of two music teachers and had spent the majority of her childhood watching her parents teach lessons before deciding to study viola performance for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Carly has had the privilege of studying private viola in both Colorado and California under the instruction of Basil Vendryes, Jonathan Moerschel, Margaret Miller, and Gina Coletti. These notable teachers have given her tools and teaching techniques that she applies daily in her own teaching. Carly enjoys playing chamber music and was a member of the Colorado State Graduate String Quartet program before graduating in May of 2021. She began taking her own private students in 2012 when she was 15 years old and it is now her biggest passion. Since graduating, she has been working to build her private teaching studio in both Centennial and Fort Collins and currently has over 35 private students ranging in age from 4 through adults.
