Off the Hook Arts exists to provide musical experiences for
adults and kids that spark imagination, learning and pure joy.
Our seasonal music festivals and summer garden concerts present music in a new way — in a relaxed, interactive atmosphere that makes music even more entertaining and meaningful.
The musicians discuss their instruments and the music they have chosen to share with us. They demonstrate some unusual techniques we are about to hear. The conversation continues over a glass of wine during the intermission and often after the performance. Later, we exchange Spotify playlists — and the experience becomes even richer.
A More Creative Way to Appreciate Music
During our WinterFest and SummerFest music festivals, performers often combine music with writing, theater, video and other visual arts. We also host TED Talk-style presentations that relate to the theme of the festival and challenge us to think creatively. All of this adds dimension and depth to the musical experience.
The central themes of each WinterFest and SummerFest reflect the vision of our artistic director, Bruce Adolphe. A New York-based composer of world renown, Bruce Adolphe is Resident Lecturer and Director of Family Programs at The Chamber Music Society at Lincoln Center — and Fort Collins is his home away from home. Our festivals regularly provide the grand stage for the world premier of his latest compositional project.
For Kids: The Opportunity of a Lifetime
Off the Hook Arts also makes musical dreams come true for children — with serious music lessons open to all, regardless of their ability to pay for it. For kids from 6 to18, we provide the instruments, expert teachers, a venue, and an opportunity to play and perform with others.
As kids practice and improve, they think more creatively — and not just about music. They absorb many lessons with lifelong value. Their self-confidence builds. And before long, they are doing better in school, too.
For many, this is truly a life-changing experience.
For You: An Opportunity to Enjoy Music as You Never Have Before
Join us for a concert. Strike up a conversation with someone who enjoys music as much as you do. Soak up the creative atmosphere, the electric energy of the whole experience.
If you feel inspired, consider a donation to help us grow and spread the magic of music throughout our community.
