Born in England, I grew up in Israel, where I started my Bassoon training, and where I completed my Bachelor's degree in the Buchman-Mehta school of music at Tel Aviv University. Upon finishing my degree, I started studying for a Master's at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. (fight on!) When I graduated I was lucky enough to win the position of principal bassoon at the Israel Chamber Orchestra, where I played for the next two and a half years.
The next chapter of my life saw me as a doctoral student at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where I was currently a Graduate Assistant, and have graduated with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in bassoon performance and pedagogy. (go buffs!)
I have won various awards and competitions during my studies, including 1st place at the USC concerto competition and 2nd place in both the USC and TAU chamber music competitions. I have also played as a soloist with various orchestras, including the Israel Chamber Orchestra and the USC chamber orchestra. Since September 2015 I have been the principal bassoon player of the Arapahoe Philharmonic orchestra. Since returning to the US, I have spent the summer times as the Bassoon and chamber music teacher at the CU Summer Music Academy, as well as participating in the prestigious Aspen and Kent/Blossom summer festivals.
Currently, I am on the lookout for a university teaching position, as my hope in life is to become a college educator!
